Hanson 1800s Horbury Yorkshire Sue Knowles Looking for any details on Martha Hanson born 4.3.1810 and her family.
Hanson 1251 onwards Yorkshire Sandra Hodgdon
Am searching for confirmation of my family name origin. ..Hanson...originated as the legend goes...1251 in Yorkshire UK..as one Roger De Astrick (Astrick being the name of one of his estates in Yorkshire) One of his descendants John de Astrick had a son called Henry, who in turn had a son called John..In those days , when only Christian names were used, the two Johns of Astrick were often confused; and to designate them, the last John came to be known as Hen's son; and finally Hanson...this is said to be the origin of the name which came about in about 1337.
Any information greatly appreciated....locations especially of interest. Thank You,

My gt gt grandfather was a William Gerrard (often with variation in spelling, including Jerratt)who married a Mary Ann Hurst (possibly Hirst) who, according to marriage certificate and later census data, was born in Leeds.
A possible Mary Ann is given on the Latter Day Saints website as christened 8th August 1822 in Rothwell, of parents Thomas Hirst and Ann Fletcher. I would like to find out more of this line or of any other potential candidate for my gt gt gt gt grandparents.
