Dennis was born around 1827 and on his marriage to Bridget Byrn on 15/09/1851 at St Patricks Roman Catholic Chapel in the district of Leeds it states he was a labourer aged 24. In the 1851 Census for South East Leeds at 13 Lower Cross St it states that Dennis was lodging at a house owned by Ann Clooney. Dennis is quoted as being born in Ireland but no County is mentioned
